FWU Academy Teams Fair Well in Waco Classic Tournament
FWU sent three Academy teams to the Waco Classic tournament last weekend - one 97 team and two 98 teams.  Two out of the three earned playoff spots with one advancing as far as the finals!

The scrappy 98 Girls Blue team, coached by Frank Cordova, faced some of the toughest competitors in North Texas and still managed to shut out all opponents in the preliminary round.  The girls in blue scored a total of five goals while not allowing a single goal against.  They faced a tough Andromeda team in the semis and unfortunately came up short this time around.

The 98 Boys Blue team, coached by Jamie Southern, scored a whopping 8 goals in the preliminaries to earn a playoff spot which resulted in an appearance in the Championship game against Dallas Texans.  In a hard-fought finals bout, the 98B ceded two goals to take 2nd place.  Congratulations boys - we look forward to many more finalist appearances.

If you are a U7 through U10 player and are interested in attending the Fort Worth United Soccer Club Academy or are interested in playing competitively with one of the FWU Academy teams, feel free to contact us or view additional details on the FWU Academy page.

FWU Announces New Academy Programs
Fort Worth United is excited to announce that it has begun offering weekly goalie schools, open skills sessions, and speed/strength/agility training (players love the strength training in the RC Sand Pit) for all Academy participants!  Just like the FWU's competitive development programs, these training sessions will focus specifically on skills, tactics, and techniques. This is a truly innovative youth training opportunity that is unparalleled in North Texas (but sure to be copied).  Check the Academy information page for more details on these exciting new additions to the Fort Worth United Soccer Club Academy program!
