Junior Kicks (Pre-Academy)
Junior Kicks is the precursor to Fort Worth United Soccer Club's Academy program.  Designed for younger U5-U6 players, ages 4 through 5 years old, the program allows your youth player to train side-by-side with their older, competitive player counterparts.  The younger players will be separated by age group and skill level and will be allowed to participate in the same sort of training provided their older counterparts.

Academy
The Fort Worth United Soccer Academy is a rich set of instructive lessons designed to accelerate the development of your U7 to U10 player (ages 6 to 9 years old). The Academy, open to all U7 through U10 players, will utilize Fort Worth United Soccer Club's highly qualified staff to teach your child the art of soccer.  In addition to the regular staff trainers, guest trainers, such as TCU and FC Dallas coaches and players, are often invited to conduct special sessions. The academy's focus is to build and accelerate your child's technical skills and tactical knowledge in order to lay the foundation for future growth.

Competitive Club Players
In recreational soccer, the focus is most often on social interaction, "having fun" with friends, which often comes at the expense of instruction.  In select soccer, the focus in on teaching in an enjoyable manner that is appropriate for the child's age level.  Individual skills and team tactics are taught and implemented in order to more fully develop the child's level of play.  For more information on the Fort Worth United Soccer Club competitive program, click here.

Development League Players

As Fort Worth's largest competitive soccer club, Fort Worth United recognizes its obligation to "give back" to the local community.  In select cases, FWU allows inner city teams to utilize FWU's Resource Connection practice facility for training and scrimmages.  In addition, FWU sponsors and hosts a "development" league for our area inner city players.  All league games will be played at Fort Worth United's Resource Connection practice facility.  Games are played on Sunday afternoons and follow a tournament/league game format.  Brackets for ages U10 (U8 through U10 players), U12, and U14 are available.  As with other North Texas Soccer leagues, Fall and Spring seasons are offered each year.

Indoor/Futsal
Fort Worth United hosts indoor/futsal games throughout the winter months. These games, available to all FWU Club members and Academy participants, are also open to all interested U8 through U12 recreational players.

The game of Futsal is emphasized at FWU for several reasons.  Several aspects of the game serve to further superior skill in players.  Firstly, since walls are typically not used (as they would be in "American indoor"), the player is forced to control the ball to keep it in play.  Secondly, the construction and response of the futsal ball itself serves to promote exceptional ball control and touch.  The futsal ball is a smaller, low-bounce soccer ball.  The size and responsiveness of the futsal ball limits the ability of the player to rely on the ball's "bounce" to touch and control the ball.  It requires more skill and technique to control and dribble a futsal ball.

Recreational Players
Fort Worth United Soccer Club coaches are periodically available to conduct private skills and tactical training for your recreational team and/or recreational association.  If you are a recreational coach or recreational association leader and are interested in having an FWU coach attend one of your recreational practice sessions, please use the Contact Us form to send in your request.

Fort Worth United Soccer Club also allows recreational players to attend the Open Skills clinics in most instances.  Please check the Open Skills page for additional information.
