| The Fort Worth United Soccer Club prides itself on the quality of coaches we employ. All Fort Worth United coaches are nationally licensed, professional coaches with proven experience training youth players. In addition, the majority of Fort Worth United teams are assigned assistant coaches which allows us to keep our coach-to-player ratio far above other North Texas clubs. | Moses Zialu (Coaching Director) |
Moses Zialus professional soccer playing experience began with the USISL Fort Worth Kickers and Houston Express. He later played professionally with Texas Lightning (USISL, later known as Dallas Lightning). In the latter part of his pro-soccer playing career, Moses played with one of the longest operating professional soccer teams in United States history (CISL), the Dallas Sidekicks.
Moses has coached select soccer for over 17 years for various clubs around the Mid-Cities areas. He has coached both boys and girls teams in various high-level leagues including the Dallas Classic League and Lake Highlands Classic League. His select soccer coaching career includes experience with such clubs as the Arsenal, Dallas Sting, Strikers, Dallas Texans, and DFW Tejanos.

| Dave Phillips (Youth Director) |
David Phillips is a well known name in the Fort Worth area. David grew up in the Fort Worth area where he played several years in the distinguished Dallas Classic League and even made an appearance in the Dallas Cup as a quarter-finalist. During that time, Coach Phillips was on the ODP (Olympic Development Program) team. During his high school career, David was named All-Area in 2001 and made the All-State team in 2002. Upon graduation, David continued his career at the collegiate level at West Texas A&M and Texas Wesleyan University. David currently coaches at the high school level for Fort Worths Trinity Valley School.

| Kenny Alexis (Coaching Director - South Branch, Club Coach) |
Kenny brings to Fort Worth United a broad range of playing and coaching experience. Kenny began playing soccer in the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Development Program and was a four-year starter for Alexander Hamilton High School. Upon completion of High School, Kenny was awarded a full scholarship to Staten Island CC. Kenny next jumped to the professional level where he played for five years professionally in Nuremburg Germany.
Kennys also brings to FWU twenty-three years of club coaching experience including stints with Dallas Comets, Oak Cliff Strikers, Fossil Ridge Fire, Texas Stars, Arlington Strikers, Dallas Inter, and United FC. In addition, he was the Coaching Director at United FC. Kenny holds a USSF National A license.

| Brian Nelson (Technical Skills Coordinator) |
Brian Nelson is an Arlington native and played for Legend Soccer Club in the NDCCSA (Classic) League. After graduating from Arlington High School, Nelson played collegiate soccer at Hardin Simmons University where he became the school’s all-time leading goal scorer and helped lead the Cowboys to their first American Southwest Conference Championship. While at Hardin Simmons, Nelson was named the American Southwest Conference Player of the Year and also became an Academic All-American. After graduating from Hardin Simmons with a B.B.S. in Physical Education, he continued his education at the University of North Texas where he earned an M.S. in Kinesiology. During his tenure at North Texas, Brian became certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal fitness trainer and began offering private soccer instruction. Nelson possesses a “National” diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He is currently the Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at North Crowley High School where he also teaches English.

| James Balcom (Club Coach) |
James is a graduate of Keller High School where he was a two year starter and received team and district honors. James played competitive soccer for the 85’ Texas Lightning team.
James continued playing soccer at the collegiate level for the University of Hardin Simmons. James started every game his second season and received All Conference Honorable Mention. James left Hardin Simmons and went to Texas Tech University to complete his college degree. At Texas Tech James became the president and coach of the Tech Club Soccer Team. The highlight of James’s collegiate career came when he captained his team the NIRSA National Championship Game. James graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008.

| Michael Foster (Assistant Coach) |
|
Michael has extensive experience at the select/competitive, high school, and collegiate levels. At the competitive level, Michael spent most of his career playing for Texas Lightning Soccer Club, with brief appearances with the DFW Tejanos. He attended high school at North Crowley High School where he was a four year letterman and played a critical role in the Panthers reaching the state semifinals in consecutive years. Coach Foster is also a U.S. Army veteran where he was selected to represent the All-Army soccer team in the armed forces tournament in January 2007. Michael tallied 5 goals and 4 assists in 6 games to lead the team in their undefeated bid for the Gold Medal.

| Sam Overton (Club Coach) |
Sam, former Head Coach at the University of Texas at Arlington, holds a USSF National "B" license and has been both a recreational, select, and collegiate coach since 1982. More than thirty players trained by Sam have gone on to play college ball. He was the Coaching Director and Head Boys and Girls Coach for 2001 Junior Olympics Italy, where the Girls Team finished as Silver Medalists. In 2005, Sam was again the Head Coach for the Boys and Girls Junior Olympics teams where the Girls finished as Gold Medalists. Sam was also the Head Coach of the High School All Star Team-Boys for Japan Tour 1997.
While Head Coach at Cistercian School of Dallas, Sam coached the team to a two year record of 29-16-3, Two time District Champions, Sam had Seven Division I recruits and one each in Division II and III. A former Olympic Development Program Staff Coach, Sam served on the Board of Youth Olympics Fort Worth 2000. Last year, Sam was awarded the NSCAA West Regional Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Heather joins FWU right out of college as an FWU assistant coach. The awards Heather has amassed speak volumes regarding her experience and technical knowledge. Heather's Club and High School playing years produced several awards including 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Area, 1st Team All-Region and District MVP. After a successful high school career, Heather was recruited to Midwestern State University where she has started for the last two years.

| Arthur Silva (Club Coach) |
Born in Brazil, Arthur grew up in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, Recife. Arthur started playing soccer like almost all the boys in Northeast Brazil, at the beaches that embrace his hometown. He then began to play Futsal, where he developed his skills and played for many teams before moving to the fields. As an outdoor player, Arthur was on the state championsip team for three years straight. Knowledge and education was always a priority for him, therefore he decided to move to the United States to attend college. He graduated from TCU with a double major in Nutrition & Dietetics and Premed. Arthur also holds a third degree black belt in Judo. He current holds a USFF National D License. Arthur speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. With his strong principals and background, Arthur is here to teach a creative and exciting soccer style.

| Jamie Southern (Club Coach) |
James began his competitive soccer career in 1992 playing with Fort Worth’s own Phoenix soccer club where he competed in the Dallas Classic League under former professional player Tony Barriteau. James attended High School at Trinity Valley where he earned All District honors as a Junior. As a Senior, James lead the area in goals and was awarded First Team All State.
Upon graduation, James signed with Northwood University where he attended on both a soccer and academic scholarship. At Northwood, James started all four years and was a contributing factor to Northwood’s soccer conference championships three out of the four years that he played for them. During his first two years at Northwood, James was honored with a placement on the All Red-River Athletic Conference team. James continues to compete in adult outdoor and indoor leagues.
James has garnered coaching experience in many capacities including for the City of Crowley, the City of Cedar Hill, and Trinity Valley High School. James is currently coaching at South Hills High School in Fort Worth.
James has a USSF “D” license and is working on obtaining the USSF “C” license.
