Nutrition Words of Wisdom
The following are a collection of
nutritional words of wisdom - some of the tips are unusual, some are humorous,
and all are good guidelines to live and train by.
Why push, train, tweak, and endure your body.... and then
fuel it with junk?
- Carbs: 55%, Proteins: 35%, Fats: 10%
- Colorful meals... are balanced meals
- Drink until it's clear
- Takes two days to hydrate yourself
- Eat a snack within 30 minutes of every workout
- Drink in the mornings
- Simple carbs for breakfast and pre-workout
food
- Complex carbs the night before an event
- Proteins 24 hours before the event
- Better five meals a day than three
- Protein is for building
- Fats are built in.... no need to try
- Salad and protein no good the night before
- Salad and protein are good during the week
- Liquid digests quicker than gels
- Gels digest quicker than solids
- Brown is better than white (bread and rice)
- Sugar is too much too quick
- Pop Tarts are a poor man's Powerbar.... eat
often
- Fancy sauces and dressings are full of fat
- Dairy fat (ice cream) will sit in intestines for
over a day
- Eggs are the best source of protein
- Eating after 8:00 PM just clogs your intestines
- Pop corn is a great bedtime snack
- Better hungry than thirsty.... best is to
be neither
- Body needs water every 15 minutes during a
workout
- 1 lb of body weight = 1 oz of water to be taken
during the day
- Milk and cereal is a great post workout meal
- 2% milk is better than whole
- Butter is just fat.... use jelly
- Caffeine just robs the body of calcium and
water.... Don't
- White is better than red (meats)
- What you eat today, affects you tomorrow
- Thirst is the first sign of dehydration
- Running on empty is worse than running on a full
stomach
- Eat protein to build muscles after long runs and
intervals
Remember, you are what you eat: (if you eat fat greasy
foods.... you'll be a fat greasy dude) |
