Nutrition Words of Wisdom
The following are a collection of nutritional words of wisdom - some of the tips are unusual, some are humorous, and all are good guidelines to live and train by.

Why push, train, tweak, and endure your body.... and then fuel it with junk?

  1. Carbs: 55%, Proteins: 35%, Fats: 10%
  2. Colorful meals... are balanced meals
  3. Drink until it's clear
  4. Takes two days to hydrate yourself
  5. Eat a snack within 30 minutes of every workout
  6. Drink in the mornings
  7. Simple carbs for breakfast and  pre-workout food
  8. Complex carbs the night before an event
  9. Proteins 24 hours before the event
  10. Better five meals a day than three
  11. Protein is for building
  12. Fats are built in....  no need to try
  13. Salad and protein no good the night before
  14. Salad and protein are good during the week
  15. Liquid digests quicker than gels
  16. Gels digest quicker than solids
  17. Brown is better than white (bread and rice)
  18. Sugar is too much too quick
  19. Pop Tarts are a poor man's Powerbar....  eat often
  20. Fancy sauces and dressings are full of fat
  21. Dairy fat (ice cream) will sit in intestines for over a day
  22. Eggs are the best source of protein
  23. Eating after 8:00 PM just clogs your intestines
  24. Pop corn is a great bedtime snack
  25. Better hungry than thirsty....  best is to be neither
  26. Body needs water every 15 minutes during a workout
  27. 1 lb of body weight = 1 oz of water to be taken during the day
  28. Milk and cereal is a great post workout meal
  29. 2% milk is better than whole
  30. Butter is just fat.... use jelly
  31. Caffeine just robs the body of calcium and water.... Don't
  32. White is better than red (meats)
  33. What you eat today, affects you tomorrow
  34. Thirst is the first sign of dehydration
  35. Running on empty is worse than running on a full stomach
  36. Eat protein to build muscles after long runs and intervals

Remember, you are what you eat: (if you eat fat greasy foods....  you'll be a fat greasy dude)
